Hai-Dang Phan was born in Vietnam and grew up in Wisconsin. He is the author of the collection, Reenactments: Poems and Translations, Sarabande in spring 2019. His poems and translations have been published in The New Yorker, Poetry, Best American Poetry 2016, New England Review, jubilat, Prelude, Waxwing, Asymptote, and other journals. He is the recipient of the Frederick Bock Prize from Poetry, an Emerging Writers Award from New England Review/Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and an NEA Fellowship. He currently teaches at Grinnell College and lives in Iowa City, Iowa.
